What we ask, what you can expect
Terms of service
Short, because a hobby server does not need ten pages of it. Playing here means you accept what is below. Last updated 25 August 2026.
What RedMoon2 is
A free, non-commercial private server for Metin2, run by players for players. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Webzen, Ymir Entertainment or any official publisher of the game. All trademarks and game assets belong to their owners. We charge nothing for access and sell nothing that affects the game.
Your account
- One person, one responsibility: what happens under your account is yours, including anything someone else does with it because you shared the password.
- Keep your password and your 7-digit deletion PIN to yourself. Staff will never ask you for either — anyone who does is not staff.
- Accounts are not property and cannot be sold, traded or transferred.
How to behave
The rules are the ones you would expect, and they are enforced:
- No cheating. Bots, macros, automation, packet editing, exploiting a bug rather than reporting it. Finding a bug and telling us is welcome and rewarded; farming it is not.
- No harassment. Slurs, targeted abuse, threats, or making the game unpleasant for someone on purpose.
- No real-money trading. Selling in-game items, characters or currency for real money, in either direction.
- No impersonating staff, and no advertising other servers.
Consequences scale with what happened and whether it happened again: a warning, a mute, a temporary ban, a permanent one. Serious cases — cheating that damages the economy, scamming other players — start further along that scale.
What you can expect from us
- Maintenance is announced in advance, in game and in Discord, with a countdown before the server goes down.
- Changes that affect how you play — rate changes, wipes, resets — are announced in the news before they happen, never after.
- Staff actions against an account can be appealed by opening a ticket in Discord.
What we cannot promise
The server is provided as it is. It is one machine run by volunteers: it can go down, lose progress to a crash, or be taken offline permanently. We keep backups and take that seriously, but nothing here is guaranteed, and no compensation is owed for lost time or lost items. If the server ever closes for good, it will be announced in advance rather than disappearing overnight.
Your data
What we store and for how long is on the privacy page, in the same plain language as this one.
Changes to these terms
We may change this page. Anything material is announced in the news and in Discord rather than quietly edited, and continuing to play after that means you accept it.
Written to be read rather than to be legally exhaustive, by people who run a game server and are not lawyers.
